Overview
The Department of Community Health Nursing is involved in training of under-
graduate and post-graduate nursing students in the field of Community Health Nursing.
Students are trained to provide need based care to the individual, family and community
at adopted villages of Vinayaka Mission’s College of Nursing.
Students are further
trained to solve the identified problems of the people and to give health education with
emphasis on primary prevention.
Objectives
To promote holistic nursing care for individual clients, families and communities which
is based on scientific and ethical principles, research findings, cultural understanding and
experience-based intuition.
To maximize the ability of individuals, families and community to take responsibility for
and manage their health needs.
The department is following regular home visits, conducting morbidity clinics and
observes all the National Health days by conducting Screening services, organizing
camps based on the needs of the Community and also performs various Mass health
education programmes, School health programmes and MCH services in Urban and
Rural health centers in the adopted villages.
