The department is dedicated to promoting mental health and providing quality education, clinical training, and research in the field of psychiatric and mental health nursing. The department focusing on preparing competent and compassionate nursing students to deliver holistic care to individuals with mental health problems across the lifespan.

It offers theoretical and practical learning experiences related to various psychiatric disorders, therapeutic communication, counseling techniques, and psychosocial rehabilitation. The department conducts mental health awareness programs, workshops, Seminars, conference, faculty development programs and community outreach activities to reduce stigma and enhance public understanding of mental health. The faculty members are well qualified and experienced in psychiatric nursing and mental health education.

They guide students in evidence-based practice, research projects, and mental health promotion activities and continuing education programs to strengthen their professional development.
